Straight and to the point, no fluff, and sometimes that's exactly what you need! I absolutely loved this game, and it was both stressful and scary and just the right length for what it is. I can't wait to try more of your games. Thank you!
Its a straight line from beginning to end. There was no fear of running out of ammo (which was implied), no fear of being too loud (which was implied).
You have no input on the games story (As far as I can tell, the different hiding places don't have any consequence and you can't approach the dino during these segments
The "90s games aesthetic" doesn't work while the game is very low-polygonal, it does not make up for it in texture-work (Which, you did a good job if you weren't aiming for a 90s aesthetic game)
It is a book/movie masquerading as a game and watching it would be no different to playing it
Respectfully, this comment, as well as the others you have posted in the past just seem to be overly negative. While I don't care enough about that to respond, I *would* like to highlight a lot of the details that I loved in the game to show the love that went into this project which was, mind you, entirely free at the developer's discretion.
Most of the actual sites that you could take the time to explore had tons of quirky little details, like ronald mcdonald sitting on a toilet for some reason, and the movie store with tons of absolutely classic horror movies. Not to mention the developer giving a subtle nod to the dev's other games through the arcade machines. More than anything though, could we take a step back and recognize how great the soundtrack in this game was? I just feel spoiled by the fact that the developer not only voiced one of the characters AND designed that banger soundtrack.
One last point I'd like to commend the dev for was the fact that there were a few times with red herrings, where I, for example, genuinely thought the dino was going into the bathroom because I was messing with stuff too much. All of this is to basically say that this game was awesome for the people that like this genre. The little easter eggs everywhere was easily my favorite part though, that stuff had so much charm!
I appreciate this a lot! 🙏 I didn't want to reply to the comment since I haven't replied to all the recent nice comments, so it would be unfair of me to focus on only the critical stuff.
It's a very linear and scripted game that emulates an 80s movie, so it's exactly what the above person is describing, and I guess it's not their cup of tea.
Glad you enjoyed the game, and I'm so happy you appreciated all the little details!
Of course! I've played a few of your other games like Banish, and I also happen to enjoy the creative field, so I have the privilege to understand that everything present within the game had to be intentionally added in.
This was probably my favorite indie game I've played in a while now, because I could just tell that a lot of passion went into it. Btw that sheriff was such an awesome character, lol. That pediatrician line really got me.
Hi there! I would love to translate your game for free to Spanish LATAM. I am game translator, and I am trying to build my portfolio, I have translated a couple of games on this platform, you can see them on my profile. If you are interested let me know and I will be happy to help!
Blood Mall is a fast-paced, cartoonish rampage game where you control a red dinosaur wreaking havoc in a shopping mall. With over-the-top violence, spiky attacks, and hilarious ragdoll physics, it’s pure chaotic fun. The visuals are goofy and colorful, which balances out the gore nicely. While it’s a short experience with limited variety, it’s a blast while it lasts.
This is a solid game lol, I wasn't expecting the "monster" to be an actual dinosaur, but here we are hunting dinos in modern times. Throughly enjoyed it, keep up the good work~
I really like this kind of game and yours is just really cool, so I'm here to to offer a free Brazilian Portuguese translation for it. I'm a new translator looking to gain some experience in game translation.
It just wanted to do a bit of shopping lol. Great game, eventhough the game is short it actually gave a good 80s 90s horror vibes. Great work. Full gameplay below.
| 10/10 | Amazing VHS, old school inspired graphics and horror elements which don't solely rely on jump scares. Ollie Hall, Please make a continuation for this!!!

Pretty neat game! Simple but spooky, right to the point, and fun! I also somehow managed to become a wizard!
Not much to say here, the game is great and it shows! We need more dinosaur horror games!

what is that "asset" file in the download site, do i need to download it? and if yes, what do i do with it
It's a bunch of images that YouTubers and other press can use, no need to download it to play the game :)
My hands are shaking, and my heart is pounding like crazy from the last chase scene. Great game!
